These are some of our long-term advocates who are comfortable with being on our website. This is not representative of all of our advocates, as some would prefer to be private. If you would like to join us, click here!
Not all of our advocates are human. For example, see alterhuman, defined as “Having an identity that is alternative to the common societal idea of ‘human’; a person who identifies as such.”, or otherkin, defined as “A person who identifies on an integral level as nonhuman.”
Many of us seek to reclaim and embrace the aspects of ourselves that are frequently dehumanised, particularly through voidpunk, invented by Alex, one member of TAAAP. We also occasionally reference the “Untitled Goose Game“, so if you see references to honking or geese, that’s how we say that we produce chaos and disrupt the systems of compulsory sexuality and amatonormativity.
We deliberately do not list titles, as we do not have a hierarchy in TAAAP. Different people choose different roles and projects, and we value everyone’s unique and diverse perspective, especially as they help us move towards our goals of inclusivity.
Alex (she/her)
Alex is a bisexual aromantic and general voidpunk overlord who has been with TAAAP since 2019. She is neurodivergent, disabled, and Hispanic. Within TAAAP and the aspec community at large, she primarily helps to moderate the monthly pride chats and advocate for allosexual aromantic acceptance and support. When not doing advocacy work, she spends most of her time taking college classes, playing video games, and assembling increasingly eccentric outfits.
Bob (he/they)
Bob is a het/frayromantic asexual genderqueer AMAB guy who is playing a lot of catch-up in a lot of ways. He’s been officially part of TAAAP since 2021, but has marched with, promoted, and assisted with them since approximately 2018. Their main focus areas are asexual masculinity and the overlap of asexuality and kink, trying to dispel the allo-centric notions that tend to be baked into both areas. In terms of advocacy they prefer to contribute by way of writing and speaking, whether it be as an individual or as part of a panel. When not doing advocacy, he likes to play tabletop RPGs, card games (CCG and otherwise), act in community theatre, and dote on his dog whenever he’s able to have time with him.
Cody (he/they)
Cody is a homoromantic asexual who joined TAAAP in 2021. He is a writer and educator focused on making queer spaces more inclusive for ace and aro young people. He makes “Ace Dad Advice,” if that’s a thing you’ve seen on the Internet somewhere. He’s also a horror fan.
Dave (they/them)
Dave joined TAAAP in 2022. Based in Aotearoa New Zealand, they help with writing, proofreading, and other fun stuff. They are white (pākehā), alloromantic asexual, queer, transmasculine nonbinary, autistic, and disabled. Dave also uses the identity label “ambiamorous”, which for them means that they are equally comfortable with being single, partnered in a monogamous relationship, or in non-monogamous relationship(s). Dave is currently employed in the tech sector, and is passionate about usability and accessibility.
Dee (they/them)
Dee has been a part of TAAAP since 2018, but only shows up once every 3 months to be snarky, make something cool, and then disappear again. They dip into writing the book, creating & presenting for conferences & events, and similar education-based parts of TAAAP. They are ace, aro, non-binary, and neurodivergent.
Elle Rose AKA secretladyspider (she/her/they/them)
Elle Rose, also known online as secretladyspider, is a demisexual/graysexual panromantic and agender writer, advocate, and artist. She joined TAAAP in 2021. In 2020 she posted about the possibility that Spongebob was both gay and asexual, and after the post went viral, she began writing about demisexuality and graysexuality, focusing on dispelling misconceptions and educating others about these lesser known orientations. In addition to this she also advocates for disabilities and neurodivergencies, such as ADHD, which she also has. In her free time she enjoys researching local cemeteries and watching horror movies.
Emily Karp (she/her)
Emily is one of the cofounders of TAAAP and has been involved in most of the endeavors TAAAP takes on. Emily identifies as a demi-sensual, pan-alterous, gray-aro, sex-averse, kissing-averse asexual (gray-aro asexual for short), and has known about the asexual part of her identity since 2013; the other specific identity labels have been adopted over the intervening years. She blogs under the name VioletEmerald about asexuality, aromanticism, and other assorted topics including fandom. She hopes to become a foster caregiver, write a novel with queerplatonic (among other) representation, and is in the process of launching her own business providing bereavement support and offering her services as a secular celebrant.
Grey (they/them)
Grey joined TAAAP in 2019, they help create and share educational resources, including things like presenting at conferences and working on the books TAAAP is writing. They also help mod TAAAP Pride Chats. Aromantic allosexual advocacy is their focus, including overlap with transgender and disability justice. Grey is an aromantic bisexual/pansexual, agender genderqueer, and genderfuck entity. They are a professional artist and all around creative, and when not doing advocacy work, can often be found writing, painting, playing music, or crafting a variety of strange things.
Jon-Michael (it/its, they/them)
Jon-Michael (typically just referred to as Michael), joined TAAAP in early 2021, and primarily helps mod the TAAAP Pride Chats. It is a native two-spirit man, who identifies as demi and queer. They are also an artist, who creates both digital illustrations, and traditional native beadwork.
Kadie (she/they)
Kadie has been an advocate in TAAAP since 2018, via presenting and volunteering at Creating Change 2018-2021, the TAAAP Pride Chats, and the book TAAAP is writing on best practices for treating ace and aro people for medical and psychological professionals. Kadie has worked around the world promoting the power and agency of gender and sexual minorities and is currently running a campaign to fight gender based violence in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Kadie is neurodivergent, a book and everything-outside-the-US nerd, and GNC.
Kimberly (they/them, she/her)
Kimberly, also known as The Asexual Goddess, is Questioning and Aro/Aceflux as well as Agender. They aim to push for diversity and inclusion, representation around different intersections of disabilities, race, class status, etc within TAAAP as well as finding ways to get Asexual and Aromantic people media coverage. They make YouTube videos about aro and ace-spec identities in hopes to inform people and help them relate. In their free time you can find them reading and drawing comics.
Maximus (fae/faer/they/them)
Maximus (sometimes known as Cinnamon) has been involved with TAAAP since mid-2020. Fae helps moderate the Pride Chats, writes resources, creates graphics, and performs public outreach and education. Maximus is black, sapphic, autistic, plant-based, and a threat to the cishetero-patriarchy. They are grey-aroace.
Mido Vince (he/him)
Mido has been involved with TAAAP since 2022. He is a Japanese American man of trans experience and identifies as queer, demisexual, grayromantic, and an HSP (as well as empath). With his background in Fine Arts and Neuropsychology, he helps create educational resources for healthcare professionals and assists with design consultations for TAAAP’s physical products. When he is not working with TAAAP and advocating for LGBTQIA2S+ voices, Mido is busy throwing himself into the various projects that nourish his neurons. This includes (and not limited to) creating art, publishing books, meditating, and holding brave spaces for others to feel empowered by honoring their diverse life experiences.
Nathan (they/them)
Nathan is one of the cofounders of TAAAP, and is involved with most aspects of the organization, most particularly the books we are writing, the TAAAP Pride Chats, and speaking at conferences. They are white, asexual, aromantic, and agender. They are currently studying to get a Masters in Sex Education, so they can more effectively shout at people about aspec issues and representation. They are primarily concerned with ensuring that experts in fields connected to aspec identities, including educators, health care workers, and queer advocates, understand our identities and are able to help our populations.
There is also a local goose that runs wild and honks everywhere (especially at conferences) about how amatonormativity is white supremacist and sex negative.
