We’ve had a good year! This video reviews everything we’ve done since last October. Additionally, we are posting this as a part of the October Carnival of Aces hosted by Ace Week, with the theme of “Reaching Out, Reaching In,” as a way of sharing the various ways we are advocating for ace and aro people and communities.

2018-2019 Year in Review
The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project
Here’s what we’ve been up to…
We changed our name from The Asexual Awareness Project to The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project.
We participated in the Creating Change Conference, hosting four workshops and succeeding to get the conference to officially recognize asexuality and aromanticism.
We hosted a blogging event. This was a joint event between the long-running Carnival of Aces and the inaugural Carnival of Aros. We received 27 submissions. This highlighted some tensions in our communities, but ultimately was a beginning towards bridging the gap.
We had packed calendars in June, attending seven different pride events along the east coast.
- Capital Pride Parade
- Baltimore Pride Parade
- Frederick Pride Festival
- Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride Festival
- The Human Rights Conference
- The Ace & Aro Conference hosted by Aces NYC
- WorldPride 2019 NYC Pride March
Last but not least, we’ve continued writing our book.
We’ve had a good second year, and we hope to make the third even better by continuing to participate in events where we have made a difference, by getting closer to making our book a reality, and by obtaining official non-profit status.
Thank you for your support.
