There will be two October TAAAP Pride Chats: one focusing on Ace Week and one chat on activism. As usual, anyone can come to these chats; they are not limited by identity. Also, we now have a community page on DreamWidth, to provide a platform that may be more enjoyable or accessible than Discord. You can go here to participate on DreamWidth: https://taaappridechats.dreamwidth.org/.
Here’s a guide on how to use Dreamwidth if you’re new to the platform, with specific sections for how to join a community and how to post: https://sportsanime.dreamwidth.org/3573.html. Our DreamWidth page will not close, and will not be monitored as closely as the Discord server. Also, there will be no voice chat option on DreamWidth.
The first Pride Chat will be from Sunday, October 25 at 9 am Eastern to Monday, October 26 at 11:59pm Eastern (we heard you, enough of you hoped pride chats could be on a weekday – this month we’re hosting that, as a treat). This Chat is in honor of Ace Week, which is held every year on the last full week of October. This is the tenth anniversary of Ace Week, and the general theme is history. For more information, visit https://www.aceweek.org/. There will be two voice chats on each day, at 11 am and 4 pm Eastern.
The regular October Pride Chat will be from Saturday, October 31st at 9 am Eastern to Sunday, November 1 at 11:59 pm Eastern, and it will focus on aro and ace activism. That can include political, social, economic, educational, community, and any other kind of activism. This also includes in-person, organized, individual, and online forms of activism. Everyone is welcome to discuss current, past, and future or hoped-for activism. Again, there will be two voice chats on each day, at 11 am and 4 pm Eastern. On November 1, there will be two voice chats at 4 pm; one will focus specifically on the Inclusive Equality Act effort. For more information on the Inclusive Equality Act, visit https://www.inclusiveea.org/.
As usual, during these times the rest of the Discord will still be open, along with the channels specifically to discuss the Carnival of Aros and the Carnival of Aces.
