Representatives of The Ace and Aro Advocacy Project were featured in prominent news publications several times during Pride 2021, discussing asexuality, aromanticism, and how we celebrate Pride!
First, on June 1, a TAAAP organizer was featured on a segment on CBS discussing asexuality and how it impacts their life. Unfortunately, the link to that is broken, but we will upload it as soon as it is available! Thanks to Steve Dorsey, the reporter, and Sara Rosen, a therapist from The Long Island Institute of Therapy, for providing her perspective in the video/
Then on June 4, Women’s Health UK published an article from an aromantic journalist about being an aromantic woman, featuring two organizers from TAAAP discussing how aromanticism impacts their life and advice for other aromantic individuals. Thanks to Jasmine Prasad for her candidness about her own experience and her work to shine a spotlight on aromantic individuals!
Finally, on June 18, two more TAAAP organizers were quoted in an article from Metro Weekly on our participation in Capital Pride this year, and how it felt to connect with community again.
TAAAP is thrilled that asexuality and aromanticism are getting more media attention and more people are learning about both orientations, and welcomes the opportunity to speak publicly about these identities!
